About MuZeeker Search Engine
The idea behind the MuZeeker Search Engine
was first concocted in December 2006 as an idea for a M.Sc. thesis at the Danish Technical
University (DTU).
Basically, the idea was to create a search engine that was in no way affected by the Internet’s
link structure, but instead based solely on the actual contents of web pages. Furthermore, the
search engine should be capable of categorizing web pages, thus making it possible to filter out
any unwanted results.
At present, the search engine’s index consists of all the music related articles in the English version of
Wikipedia. The Wikipedia articles are used as primary data since they provide structured and
reliable data, thus making standard SEO techniques useless. The only thing that affects
the search results is the actual content of the Wikipedia articles.
MuZeeker Search Engine categorizes the retrieved results
and these categories can then be used to narrow the search, making the search results more precise.
